We booked at very short notice and were delighted with the cottage - a clean modern interior with excellent beds and showers. The two outside terraces gave us a choice between sun and shade. Local bar owners and restaurants were welcoming and provided great food and drink. Loads to see and do. We'll be back....

Well Equipped Cottage in a Fantastic Village
Went to Hortensia Cottage in Siran with 2 children, 2 parents and 2 grandparents. The property was perfectly set out for our family group and had all the facilities that one could require. Unfortunately it was too cold at that time of year to enjoy the 2 beautiful courtyards the property enjoys, but the wood stove burner kept us very comfortable. Siran is a quiet and quaint village with boulangerie down the road and friendly neighbours. A super holiday. Thank you

Excellent Stay in a Very Well Appointed Cottage
Our week-long stay at Hortensia Cottage was brilliant. The cottage itself comprises three floors with a fantastic top floor "suite" occupying the whole floor, including walk-in wardrobe and spacious
bathroom. There are two other very good sized doubles on the first floor and ample living space on the ground floor with a well appointed kitchen and very comfortable lounge. The living space is
complemented with not one but two totally separate terraces, one which enjoyed more shade in the heat of the day while the other, larger one was equipped with an excellent stone built barbeque and
large dining table. Neither are overlooked and made for great alfresco dining. We also liked the thought that has gone into providing other little extras such as a cool box, tennis racquets (there is
a free tennis court in the village), other beach "stuff" for kids, board games and plenty of books! Locally, the village of Siran is very pleasant and includes a small general store, boulangerie and
decent sized bar/brasserie run by a very nice family, with a lovely shaded outdoor dining terrace less than two minutes from the cottage. A must visit is the beautiful (enormous) swimming/watersports
lake and lakeside restaurant just outside the next door village of Pepieux, ten minutes away by car and much closer than the beach. No negatives about our stay, excellent throughout as was the
weather. Will be back for sure!!

Lovely Cottage
Lovely holiday cottage in France, home from home. We had a great week at Hortensia Cottage & will be back again next year. Thanks for the suggestion of the wine tour, we had great fun with Kate at Vin en Vacances.

Very Comfortable & Well Equiped
Clean and tidy cottage, very well equipped with everything you
might need to self cater.
Two big double bedrooms (the attic is gorgeous) and one rather
smaller one. Lovely bed linens and towels. Cosy lounge with log burner. Lots of things to see in the area, and the village itself is nice. Recommended.

Delightful Cottage
Situated in the heart of a pretty village Hortensia Cottage provides a delightful residence of character for experiencing this beautiful region of France.
The 3 storey accommodation worked well for our holiday party having 3 spacious double bedrooms - with the jewel being the top floor on-suite bedroom - or grenier- taking up the entire top storey with
exposed beams and lovely views over the village. The front and rear secluded courtyards provided ideal surrounding for breakfasts and evening barbecues while the friendly village café bar is only a
few minutes walk away and provides excellent meals and is open all day and every day - and you are soon recognised! The mini village supermarket is well stocked and their selection of the very good
local wines is most acceptable. The morning visit to the boulangerie is a daily treat and not to be missed.
Siran is surrounded with many small villages each worthy of a visit and is also a convenient centre to explore further passed the unending surrounding vineyards.
Kevin, the owner, is very helpful and is quick to respond to any queries what ever they are.

Lovely cottage, great location in Languedoc
Hortensia cottage is in great location in small town in rural Languedoc, but with good access to main towns such as Carcassonne and Narbonne.
Hortensia Cottage is well equipped with everything you need for family and has two courtyards so always access to sun or shade throughout the day.
Loads of places to visit, historical interest, beaches, local lake for water sports.
Good service from owner including local information, provision of keys and prompt repayment of deposit.
Many thanks.

Felt at home instantly
Hortensia Cottage is a lovely cottage and just what we were looking for. It is situated in the small yet characterful village of Siran and within driving distance of lots of interesting and beautiful places in Aude and Herault. The cottage itself was very clean, and we had everything we needed from kitchenware and an ironing board to a stone barbecue and comfy chairs on the patio. We felt very much at home there despite being there for only a week, and it was perfect for our two and a half year old daughter.

What a fabulous house!
This house is the most homely holiday let we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few). It is a great location for sightseeing. Having been in the area before, we were aware of the local attractions and so played "guide" to our friends. Carcassonne, Gruissan (which has a fabulous market on a Saturday) and Narbonne are great places to visit, as are all the small villages in the location, particularly Minerve, Caunes Minervois We visited Albi too, which is a bit of a distance, but well worth it to see the cathedral of St Cecile. Apparently Barcelona is within traveling distance, but we were unable to book a room there, so didn't attempt the drive. Just mentioning this, because had we booked a room there beforehand we would certainly have made the trip. They also have a wonderful English girl who lives in the locality, who calls round to make sure you are ok, and a great elderly French neighbour (Francoise) who doesn't speak a word of English, but is hugely entertaining. All in all a great holiday. Thank you for sharing your home Kevin!

Pleasant cottage
The cottage offers a peaceful sanctuary in a lovely part of South of France. We would not hesitate to holiday there again if we got the chance.
